Community guidelines
Last updated 15 October 2026
Thoughtscape is for sharing ideas and connecting them to other people’s. Disagreement is welcome; it’s often what makes a link worth drawing. These rules keep it a place people want to publish in.
Don’t publish
- Harassment, threats, or content meant to intimidate or demean a person.
- Hate directed at people for who they are, including race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, or disability.
- Anyone’s private information, such as addresses, phone numbers, or documents, without their consent.
- Sexual content, or any sexualization of minors.
- Spam, advertising, or links and thoughts published only to promote something.
- Content that encourages violence or self-harm, or that breaks the law.
- Someone else’s writing passed off as your own.
Linking
Link a thought when there’s a real connection, and say why in the note. Don’t use links to follow someone around, to attach their work to something hateful, or to advertise. Authors can remove links to their thoughts, and blocking someone stops them linking to you.
What happens when something is reported
A moderator reviews each report. Thoughts that break these rules are removed; the author still sees them, with the reason. Repeated or serious breaks lead to a suspension, which hides an account’s published thoughts and stops it publishing or linking. Thoughts in your private library are never reviewed because we can’t see them.
